Impact Drop Tester – Model IDT01

The Impact Tester, Model IDT01, has been developed in accordance with various product safety and ASTM standards. It can be used for many different types of applications. Ergonomics supplies impactors that vary in energy range from 0.2 Joules to 50 Joules. Ergonomics also can design and build the complete pendulum or mass drop system, as seen in the picture above. For those customers that prefer to use an impact ball, Ergonomics fabricates these in all diameters from 1 millimeter to 100 millimeters.

The base has threaded screw holes to mount the test sample or accept holding assemblies. The picture shows a one Kg (2.21 lb.) impactor, Model IDT 005, with an impact surface of radius 12.5mm that satisfies the requirements for IEC 60079-0. A removable pin fits the eye bolt on the base so at the proper time the impactor can be dropped. In addition, a 600mm calibrated rule and the impactor are also supplied with a calibration. The base is more than (23) twenty three kilograms (kg) so it meets requirements of IEC and ASTM procedures.

The above is just one example of many types of systems that Ergonomics has designed and built. This model is very versatile and it provides for accurate results. It can be easily modified by changing the impactor if required by the customer. For example, some customers prefer impact balls or impactors that have a blade rather than a rounded surface. We can design and build a tester system based on any type of requirements.
