The NAF2 probe is specifically designed to help manufacturers and testing labs comply with the updated UL 60950 standard for paper shredders. This standard was revised after it was discovered that children and individuals with smaller hands could potentially access hazardous internal components on certain shredder models.
Alongside the UL Articulated Finger Probe (models ULP01, ULP04, or ULP20), the NAF2 is now one of the two required probes for this type of safety testing.
