This apparatus is used to test for degrees of protection. It is referenced in IEC 60529, Table VII.
This instrument is used where a force of 30 N is to be applied. The handle can be for connection with a force gauge; it has a threaded hole to accept a standard force gauge coupling. The handle can also be removed, and the ball attached to the force gauge if desired.
